Two armed masked highway robbers looted rupees 35 lakh and gold ornaments at gun point from a gold smith near village Nadala on Tuesday night according to delayed report reaching here today .
In a complaint lodged with police on Wednesday ,the complainant stated that he along with his wife and children were coming from Jalalpur falling in Hoshiarpur in a car and when their car reached near Nadala ,the assailants who were travelling in a car ahead of their car suddenly applied brakes and stopped the car and they had to stop their car.The assailants immediately came out of their car and looted the cash of rupees 35 lakh lying in the purse of wife and also took away all the gold ornaments of his wife at gun point and run away in their car towards Dhilwan side .
They noted down the registration number of the fleeing car and reported it to police.
Police registered the case of theft on Wednesday night .
SP ( Investigation) Harvinder Singh when contacted today said police was investigating the case and suspected it to be a fabricated story with some ulterior motives and will soon solve the mystery of robbery.
