Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Vishesh Sarangal today asked the SDMs, Food and Civil Supply and Mandi Board officials to personally visit the mandis on daily basis to monitor the wheat procurement process so that Farmers should not face any problem.
Today in a meeting here , Sarangal said that the lifting of the procured wheat should be made within given time frame of 72 hours .
He asked the officials to made direct contact with farmers and artiyas to redress the problem faced by them , if any .
He said that there was a target of purchasing about 3 lakh MT wheat in the district, out of which 129964 MT has been purchased till yesterday.
Out of that PUNGRAIN has procured maximum 35382 MT , PUNSUP 30421, Markfed 28500, Punjab State Warehouse Corporation 27089, FCI has procured 1249 MT.
He said that about 50 crore rupees are being paid to the farmers daily in Kapurthala district, and till yesterday Rs. 185 crore have been sent to the farmers' accounts.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Sagar Setia, SDM. Sultanpur Lodhi Chandrajoti, SDM Kapurthala Lal Vishwas Bains, SDM Bhulath Sanjeev Sharma and SDM. Phagwara Dr. Jayinder Singh and others were present.
