DC reviews implementation of animal welfare schemes in district

 

  • 1.40 lakh animals vaccinated to prevent Hemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS) 

 


Kapurthala: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal today reviewed the implementation of schemes of the Punjab government for the welfare of animals, especially the vaccination programs during the meeting of the animal husbandry department.

He asked the officials to pay special attention to ensure  100 % vaccination for preventions Hemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS) commonly known as “ Gal Ghotu “  and other diseases so that livestock to be maintained in the best way.

Apart from this, the officials were instructed to organize special camps at the village level to aware  people about the diseases of animals, methods of rescue etc. He said that the veterinary officers and their teams must visit the rural areas for vaccination in the district.

Deputy Commissioner also said that a joint meeting of the “District Animal Welfare Society “ and the “ Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals “ to be called shortly  to implement the schemes for the welfare of animals in an effective manner. 

Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department H.S. Bedi said that 1.40 lakh injections of “Gal Ghotu “  have already been given to animals and soon the entire district will be covered.

On this occasion SDM Kapurthala Lal Vishwas Bains, Assistant Commissioner Upinderjit Kaur Brar were also present.of the Punjab government for the welfare of animals, especially the vaccination programs during the meeting of the animal husbandry department.
