The Shahkot police have booked six persons on the charges of assaulting a villager.
The investigating officer (IO) Balkar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Happy a resident of Bagga village and his five unidentified accomplices.
Balkar Singh son of Makhann Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused d attacked him with weapons and injured him on October 28.
IO said a case under sections 323,325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to arrest absconding accused.
