Phagwara; Phagwara Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr Nayan Jassal today embarked a campaign to felicitate hygienic places in the city to make the city green, clean and pollution free.
Kicking off the campaign the Commissioner honoured the women staff of Nayyar Dhaba in the heart of the city. Congratulating the staff she said that the Dhaba has set a new example of hygienic food by ensuring cleanliness around its premises. She said that this must be replicated in every commercial place and even in residential localities.
She said that the purpose of this campaign is to encourage the people to adopt cleanliness. She said that it is the need of hour to make clean, green and pollution free Phagwara. She said that it will also help in checking the diseases caused due to lack of hygiene and cleanliness.
She said that to make Phagwara clean, green and pollution free is her top priority. She said that the civic body will make whole hearted efforts in these areas as top priority. She said that the civic body’s effort to make the people aware about the need and benefits of a healthy environment Mission can only bear fruit if people support this noble cause. She urged the people to come forward for making this mission a mass movement.
