CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit has extended his greetings to the people of Punjab and Union Territory, Chandigarh on the ‘Parkash Purab’ of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
In a message issued on the eve of this auspicious occasion, Punjab Governor said that Guru Ji preached and practiced gospel on oneness of mankind, human brotherhood, mutual love, social equality and fraternity for fellow beings. It is our onerous responsibility to carry forward his noble mission to the present and future generations.
The Punjab Governor further said that Guru Ji’s teachings are relevant for all times especially in the present complex and materialistic world and appealed the people to follow the same in true spirit for carving out a peaceful, prosperous and healthy society.
Reminding the people of the shalok “Pawan Guru, Paani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat: Air is Guru, Water is Father, and Earth is the Great mother of all”, the Governor made a fervent appeal to uphold the Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s ideology to protect natural resources.
