The Shahkot police have booked five persons on the charges of assault and kidnapping.
The investigating officer (IO) and Talwandi Sanghera police post-in-charge Aatamjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Harprit Singh Happy a resident of Nur Pur Chatha village in Nakodar and Mithu and their three unidentified accomplices.
Pardeep Kumar a resident of Malsian village complained to the police that the accused barged into the barber shop of Jaskaran Singh Bhullar and assaulted threatened and kidnapped him and debored him on Nakodar road.
IO said a case under sections 323,3249voluntarly causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 451( trespass) 364(kidnapping in order to murder) 506( criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149 (rioting ) of the IPC have been registered against the accused.
