AMRITSAR: After the murder of Hindutva leader Sudhir Suri in Amritsar, Aam Aadmi Party MLA has questioned his own government regarding the law and order of the city.

 

Describing this incident as shameful, MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said that the law and order in Amritsar has completely broken down.

He told the media, "It was a shameful incident. I went there first. The truth cannot be hidden. Yes, the police system is shattered. I have repeatedly asked to send an expert team here and get Amritsar case study done.

All this is happening in Amritsar North, "I spoke to the DGP, Home Secretary and Chief Minister. I myself am upset. We had come in public with some other promise and all this is happening in front of us. We are ashamed too. There is a complete failure of law and order. The police commissioner should be dismissed.

He has also tweeted about this matter.

Hindutva leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead outside Gopal Mandir in Punjab's Amritsar on Friday.

Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri along with his comrades were staging a sit-in outside Gopal Mandir on Majitha Road, when they got into an argument with someone and were shot.

 

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav told a press conference that the person who fired at Sudhir Suri was a local shopkeeper who has a shop near the protest site. His name is Sandeep Sunny.
