Post graduation (DNB) approved in two branches in civil hospital Faridkot,two others await formal approval

  • “One seat has been approved in anesthesia and two in pulmonary medicines.The approval for the three seats in general medicine and two in ENT is awaited. It is expected to come after inspection soon,” said Dr Chander Sekhar,SMO Faridkot.
  • If awaited approval is granted, civil hospital Faridkot may have 8 PG seats in four branches of medicines.


Faridkot: The Post Graduate, Diplomate in National Board (DNB) courses in two branches of medicine have been approved in civil hospital Faridkot while two others are in process of approval.

First student in PG of anesthesia has been admitted today and has joined the course.

“We have got approval for three seats in the two branches of medicine, anesthesia and pulmonary medicine. We have got one seat for PG in anesthesia and two in pulmonary medicine. One student has joined this evening in the anesthesia for PG and others are expected to join the Pulmonary medicine in  days to come,” said Dr Chander Sekhar, senior medical officer civil hospital Faridkot.

“In the other two branches, general medicine and ENT,formal approval is being awaited while we have submitted required files for approval. There are three seats in General Medicine and two in ENT,” the SMO said.

“There is a scheme at the national level under which post graduation can be started in the civil hospital, but the concerned authorities have to put in a lot of effort to complete all the formalities. I have dedicated 6 months to bring these seats to the civil hospital Faridkot and now we are proud of it that our hospital has got the PG courses,” said Dr Chander Sekhar, SMO civil hospital Faridkot.
