17 booked for assault, mischief, rioting

The Shahkot police have booked seventeen persons on the charge of voluntarily causing hurt, mischief, and rioting.
The investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in charge Nirmal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Vijay,Laadi,Paramjit Singh ,Mandip Singh and Jashan residents of Talwandi Madho village.
Harmesh a resident of the same village complained to the police that he is working as a caretaker in the house of Sarpanch Harjit Singh and the accused barged into the house on October 28 and ransacked it and attacked and injured him.
IO said that a case under sections 323 and 324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means )427 (mischief) 452(lurking house-trespass) and 148 and 149 (rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
