NAKODAR
The total purchase of paddy by the state government and private agencies from farmers crossed 6,52217 lakhs quintals in Mehat Pur market committee on Wednesday.
Committee secretary Manjit Singh said we are expecting a decline in the purchase of paddy this season and may achieve the target of 7,32305 lakhs quintals purchased last year. He said this is due to a fall in yield per acre due to various reasons adding that 5,39584 quintals of purchased paddy have been lifted from grain markets.
