Nawanshahr: Satnam Singh Jalalpur (District President of AAP) today took over the charge of Chairperson of District Planning Committee, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in the presence of Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann. On this occassion Jalalpur assured to carry out this responsibility assigned by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann with full honesty, diligence and dedication.
Cabinet Minister for Tourism, Cultural Affairs, Labour and Investment Promotion, Anmol Gagan Mann while congratulating him on the occasion said that she hopes Satnam Singh Jalalpur will fulfill this responsibility entrusted to him by the Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann with utmost dedication in the service of people. She said that since she is the minister in charge of the district, she is very hopeful that Satnam Jalalpur will bring the important problems and issues of the district to her attention to redress them timely at the state government level.
She said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken such historic public interest decisions in its 7 month tenure, which the previous governments never thought about. Listing 600 units of free electricity, the decision to regularise 8736 teachers, the decision to procure the crop in the mandis of Punjab without any delay and difficulty and besides making payments immediately and the revival of old pension scheme of government employees who joined after 2004 of Punjab, have taken place for the first time in the history of Punjab, she added.
The cabinet minister said that the Bhagwant Maan government of Punjab had come to existence with the many hopes and expectations of the people and the government is living up to those hopes and expectations as well. The difficulties related to the people are being eliminated and decisions are being taken by the government keeping people's interests in front. She said that the Punjab Government is marching ahead in its mission to restore the pristine glory of Punjab and make it the best place for business, industry and investment.
She said that today the problems related to the district such as drug trafficking has been brought to her notice and she has directed the administration to take action as per the government's 'zero tolerance' policy. She said that drugs are the root cause of crime and criminals, so the government is also taking massive action against drugs and gangsters at the state level, too.
MLA Balachaur Santosh Kataria who accompanied the Minister, also felicitated the newly appointed Chairperson of the District Planning Committee Satnam Singh Jalalpur and expressed the hope that he will further serve the people of the district with this responsibility handed over by the Punjab Chief Minister.
