District Administration Orders to Check Illegal Construction and Unauthorised Colonies in SBS Nagar
  • DC Randhawa Assigns Task of Checking to EOs and BDPOs

Nawanshahr: Taking strict notice of the mushrooming of unauthorised colonies and construction of illegal buildings in the district, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa on Friday, asked the Executive Officers of Municipal Councils and Block Development and Panchayat Officers of Development Blocks to check and stop all such construction work going on in their respective jurisdictions.
He said that in addition of stopping the construction of unauthorised colonies/illegal buildings, it should also be ensured that no construction is allowed without approval or sanctioned plan (drawing). He said that the constructions without approval or sanctioned plan are in violation of the government instructions and rules and these are also impacting the revenue earning from NOC/regularisation etc.to the government.
The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that he himself will conduct surprise checking of such places and wherever such illegal construction is found, the responsibility of the concerned officer will be fixed.
He also appealed to the residents of the district not to do any construction without obtaining the approval of the competent authority or getting the drawing passed. If they do this, besides taking action against them, demolition may also be done on the illegal construction, due to which they will also have to bear more financial loss.
