Resentment prevails among Nakodar residents against the failure of district police authorities to provide proper security at the local civil hospital. They said opiate therapy centre in the civil hospital has become a source of nuisance for the town as well as medical authorities.
Senior medical officer Doctor Sanjiv Kumar said more than one thousand drug addicts’ daily visit therapy centre for dose, and they create law and order problem. He said that he had requested city police to provide adequate police security but of no avail.
Nakodar city police station munshi said station house officer had written to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police to provide permanent police guard (five personnel) from police lines at the civil hospital which has been rejected. He said that city police are providing security.
