The Mehat Pur police have booked a villager on the charge of assault and theft.
The investigating officer (IO) Kulwindar Singh said that the accused had been identified as Gopi Datar a resident of Udho Wal village.
Ajay Kumar a resident of Mahun Wal village complained to the police that the accused and his two unidentified accomplices attacked him with sharp edges weapons and seriously injured him on October 23 and snatched his smartphone.
IO said a case under sections 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) common intention)379(theft) and 34(committing the crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
