- DC did Bhangra dance with inmates
Kapurthala: Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Central Jail, Kapurthala with staff along with 3620 Jail inmates lodged in Phase-1, Phase-2 and Lady ward of the Jail.
Vishesh Sarangal Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala was chief guest in the programme.
On this occasion, Shabad-Kirtan, Songs and Bhangra items were performed by bandis.Sweets were also distributed to the inmates on this occasion.
Addressing the jail inmates , Deputy commissioner greeted the bandis and said that the district administration would provide full assistance to make the central jail as modern one in the state .
He also addressed the Jail inmates on “Radio Ujala “ which was set up in the Jail by Punjab Government. He listen the problems faced by bandis and assured them to solve the issues as soon as possible.
At the end of program, there was a wave of happiness among the prisoners and the prisoners thanked the jail administration for the celebration.
During this programme, special attention was paid to the security of the jail.
On this occasion Iqbal Singh Dhaliwal Superintendent Jail, Hemant Sharma Additional Superintendent Jail, Adarshpal Singh Deputy Superintendent (Factory), Vijay Kanwar Pal Deputy Superintendent (Security), Amarjit Singh Deputy Superintendent (Security), Rishipal Singh Assistant Commandant CRPF and other staff of various forces were present.
