The Lohian Khas police have booked a local resident on the charge of storing crackers in his shop.
The investigating officer (IO) Sarabjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Amit Kumar Gandhi a resident ward no 9 , Lohian Khas.
IO said that the accused has stored a huge quantity of r crackers and other inflammable materials in his shop and sold them to residents and shopkeepers which posed a danger to the life of ordinary residents living nearby and thus violated the Jalandhar deputy commissioner’s order on storing crackers.
IO said a case under sections 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant.) and 285and 286 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter and to explosive substance.) of the IPC and section 4,9(B) of the Explosive Act has been registered against the accused and seized huge quantity of crackers from him.
