The Lohian Khas police have arrested two local residents on the charge of storing crackers in their shops .
The investigating officer (IO) Avtar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amit Kumar and Rannbir Khera residents of Lohian Khas.
IO said that the accused have stored huge quantity of crackers and other inflammable materials in their shops in main bazar and were selling to residents and shopkeepers and posed a danger to the life of ordinary residents living nearby and thus violated Jalandhar deputy commissioner’s order on storing crackers.
IO said a case under sections 188(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.) and 285and 286 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter and to explosive substance.) of the IPC and section 4,9(B) of the Explosive Act has been registered against the accused and seized huge quantity of crackers from them who were released on bail.
