Faridkot: The canal circle Bathinda is expected to remain closed for about 3 weeks, from October 28 to November 17.
The water will be closed in the canal mandal Bathinda because of the repair and cleaning work of all distributaries, minors and canals within the circle before irrigation of the Rabi crops starts.
“Due to the cleaning and repair works in the canals, Rajbahas and minors in the circle, the canals will remain dry for about three weeks. So the water, in case of the drinking water supply may be stored for this period,” said Gursagar Singh Chahal, Exen, Bathinda Canal Mandal in a press note.
