- Move aimed at checking the spread of vector borne diseases in these areas
Phagwara: In order to check the spread of vector borne diseases in the vulnerable areas of the city, the Municipal Corporation Phagwara (MCP) has intensified the second phase of its fogging drive in the city.
Divulging the details, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Nayan Jassal said that the civic body has already completed the first phase of fogging successfully in all the wards of the city. However, she said that as vector borne diseases have been alarmingly spreading wings around the city, so they have identified the vulnerable areas in which the drive is being conducted during second phase. She said that teams of the Municipal Corporation are conducting the massive fogging drive in major areas of the city.
She said that the move is aimed at preventing the breeding of mosquitoes in these parts of the city. She said that the Municipal Corporation Phagwara is committed for ensuring that people do not fall prey to the vector borne diseases. She said that the fogging will help in saving the precious lives of people from this disease on one hand and check the breeding of the mosquitoes on the other.
The Commissioner of Municipal Corporation further said that she is personally monitoring the massive drive to ensure that it is accomplished with missionary zeal. She reiterated the commitment of the civic body to serve the masses for ensuring their well being adding that massive efforts are afoot to ensure people do not face any sort of problem. The Commissioner said that every initiative will be made to extend a helping hand to people and provide them world class civic amenities, for which no stone will be left unturned.
