Kapurthala; Two police men and one passer by were seriously injured when an unruly mob attacked them with swords,brickbats and baseballs at village Talwandi Mehma on Kapurthala- Kala singia road here this afternoon.
The seriously injured police constable Parminder Singh posted at CIA staff Kapurthala and Passerby Satwinder Singh have been shifted to a private hospital at Jalandhar on seeing their serious condition while constable Navdeep Singh has been admitted in local civil hospital and his condition is stated to be out of danger.
An eyewitness of the village on the condition of anonymity told media persons that a feud took place between the injured constable Parminder Singh and a car owner over the issue of overtaking of the car of a village youth who waylaid the car of the constable and attacked him and about 20 village youths who were standing on the road also attacked the policemen with swords and lathis.
The unruly mob also attacked constable Navdeep Singh who stopped his car on seeing the beating up of constable and tried to help his colleague but he was also attacked with swords and injured him .
A passerby also sustained serious injuries in the attack and has been shifted to a private hospital at Jalandhar.
SSP Navneet Singh Bains when contacted by PTI said police was identifying the attackers and register a criminal case against them
