The Mehat Pur police have arrested a drug peddles on the charge of selling poppy husk.
The investigating officer (IO)Bhupinder Singh said that 10 kilograms poppy husk was recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Joga Singh son of Kirpal Singh a resident of house number72, Aman Nagar near Kamal Park, division number 8, Jalandhar city.
IO said that a case under sections 15 (B) /61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded his scooter (PB-08-CJ- 4494) on which he was travelling with the contraband.
The Shahkot police arrested drug peddler Rakesh Kumar alias Rinku son of Baldev Singh a resident of near Hanumaan temple, Shahkot with 90 intoxicant tablets, said IO Nirmal Singh.
