Phagwara MC commissioner undertakes ‘Mera Shehar, Mera Mann’ campaign in Bhagatpura

Phagwara: With a view to mitigate the woes of common man, Phagwara Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Dr Nayan Jassal today undertook the state government’s flagship program ‘Mera Shehar, Mera Mann’ in Bhagatpura locality of the city.   
Interacting with the residents, the Commissioner said that the 'Mera Shehar-Mera Maan' campaign aims to make our city clean, green and pollution free. She said that cleanliness is a way of life and the main objective of this campaign is to create awareness about various aspects of sanitation as well as to provide a better standard of living to the residents. She said that community participation is essential to make this campaign successful.
Dr Jassal said that under this campaign various activities involving all the stakeholders of the city are being executed. She said that a team of officials are visiting the wards to implement these activities so that it can be implemented effectively. Hearing the complaints of people, she ordered the MC staff to immediately ensure that these complaints are resolved at the earliest.
Underlining the need to make Mera Shehar-Mera Maan a community based campaign, she called upon people to be active partners of the campaign. He said that people must come forward to ensure effective cleanliness of their wards/ Mohallas on a regular basis. She said that the Punjab  Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan has started this 'Mera Shehar-Mera Maan' campaign to raise the standard of living of the people and to make cleanliness a part of daily life. She appealed to the public to cooperate and support the administration to make this campaign a huge success adding that such a noble target cannot be achieved without their support.
