The Mehat Pur police have arrested two Shahkot village residents with a firearm
The investigating officer (IO) Bhupinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amanpreet Singh alias Aman son of Jaswindar Singh and Jatinder Singh alias Tika son of Jaswindaer Singh residents of Dharmi Wal village in Shahkot.
IO said that he was on petrol duty with a police party and the accused were intercepted in the way who tried to flee but were nabbed and an illegal 32 bore pistol and two cartridges were recovered from their possession.
IO said a case under sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused who are proclaimed offenders in a case of snatching registered against them in 2019adding that the accused are wanted in other cases .
