Kapurthala administration adopts Unique initiative to prevent stubble burning

 

  • More than 35 thousand of 700 Govt schools engaged in an awareness drive against ill effects of stubble burning
  • To motivate parents by getting their note books signed for no stubble burning 

Kapurthala: In a unique initiative by the Deputy commissioner Vishesh sarangal , the district have engaged more than 35000 students of Government schools to motivate their parents for no stubble burning . 

Students of nearly 700 Primary , High and Senior secondary schools  are playing the role of torch bearer of an awareness drive against the bad effects of stubble burning on environment as well as on the soil health. 

Deputy commissioner said that the sole aim of this drive was not only to aware the students to work in unison for their bright future with clean environment but also making them to motivate their parents for zero stubble burning in their fields by getting the note books countersigned by them. 

Sarangal said that with that message of environmental protection was reaching door to door through more than 35 thousand students of 700 schools. 

While the teachers are duty bound for giving speeches in the morning assembly about stubble burning , the campaign was being accelerated by writing different slogans about no burning of residue in the copies of the students, awareness rallies in villages along with agricultural and Rural Development departments. 

He said that the role of students we’re most important to prevent stubble burning, for which they can easily motivate their parents not to burn stubble for their better future and environmental protection.

Calling upon the students to come farward for positive change, Deputy commissioner said that along with conducting speech, writing and painting competitions of students in schools across the district, awareness rallies are also being conducted jointly by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Education.

He also announced that schools, students and teachers who would performed excellent services under this campaign will be awarded with "Environment Protection" awards and appreciation letters by the district administration.
