Health Department Barnala Active to prevent Dengue: Civil Surgeon Barnala

BarnalaPeople are being made aware of dengue and malaria prevention by health department employees and mosquito breeding places are checked. Stating this, Civil Surgeon Barnala Dr Jasbir Singh Aulakh said that pamphlets are also being distributed by the employees of the department to create awareness.

Dr Munis Kumar District Epidemiologist said that 63250 houses were surveyed in Barnala district so far this year and larvae were found in 230 places which were destroyed on the spot with larvicide. So far 17 cases of dengue have been reported which have been cured. In Barnala city, the team of the health department, Buta Singh, Baljinder Singh, Jagjit Singh and Surinder Virk, checked larvae at different places and spread awareness by distributing pamphlets.

Gurmail Singh and Bhupinder Singh Health Inspectors said that due to standing water in the streets and drains and water standing in pots, coolers, tires, pots, back trays of refrigerators etc. for many days in houses, shops, and other places, mosquitoes are born due to which dengue, malaria spreads.

 

To protect against malaria and dengue, all water vessels should be dried by destroying stagnant water sources or by adding black oil. If someone has the symptoms of fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, pain in the muscles, red rashes on the body, or bleeding from the nose or mouth, they should be treated immediately according to medical advice.
