The Nurmahal police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a Nurmahal resident of Rs.25 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.
Station House Officer (SHO) Palwindar Singh Ghuman said that the accused have been identified as Jorawar Singh son of Gurmukh Singh a resident of Lasoorri village under Shahkot police station and Indar Jit Singh son of Papi a resident of Pippali village in Shahkot.
SHO said that Harsharanjit Singh a resident of Mohalla Kohlian, Nurmahal complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 25 Lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migratioUSA, but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money.
IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating)of the IPC and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry as incident had happened in the past
