CPI (M) organised a massive rally and demonstration at Jallandhar

Jalandhar: CPI(M) Punjab conducted a campaign in support of peoples issues, problems and demands and their settlement for 10 days from 14-23 September, 2022 throughout the state. Jatha marches were taken out in the villages. The campaign got a very good response from people which is reflected in massive gathering today. On the last day of the campaign a massive rally was organised here today at Deshbhagat Yaadgar Hall . A procession led by Comrade Nilotpal Basu, Polit Bureau Member , Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon, state secretary and State Committee Members followed by thousands of Party workers and supporters marched from Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall to great freedom fighter Pandit Kishori Lal Chowk.

The demonstrators were raising anti central government and anti Punjab government slogans with red flags in their hands in support of demands of the people. Party workers and supporters from all over Punjab started converging at Deshbhagat Yaadgar Hall from 5 O' Clock today. The agitators demanded control on unabated price rise, scrapping of tax on eatable items, rollback of increase in LPG rates and Petrol/Diesel rates in tune with reduction in raw oil,  provision of affordable education and health services,  200 days work for MNREGA workers in a year with Rs 600 as daily wage, restoration of reduction in MNREGABudget, extension of MNREGA to urban areas, regularise contract workers, withdraw anti workers 4 Labour Codes, withdraw the New Education Policy, central government must stop attacks on Constitution, Constitutional Institutions and democratic rights. Pro people policies on the pattern of LDF Kerala government should be implemented. 

 

The Rally proceedings were presided over by Comrade Bhup Chand Channo. Comrade Nilotpal Basu while addressing the rally said that Modi government is controlled by Communal/fascist RSS and Corporate nexus.  It is dangerous for all sectors. He alleged that government is creating unemployment by proivatising the Public Sector. The 4 year recruitment is nothing but privatisation of Defence Sector. Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon, State Secretary while addressing the protesters demanded implementation of election promises by the Punjab government, law & orders should be maintained, current issues should be settled, Instead of creating theatrics the Punjab government must concentrate on probems of the people. Comrade Sekhon disclosed that memorandums addressed to Chief Minister will be submitted to SDMs all over Punjab 7th October after conducting a campaign from 1-6 October for restoration of Law & Order, Lampi disease of cattle, compensation for damage to crops . eom.
