JalandharTwo books namely `Bholli Da Karva Chauth’, and `Punjeba’, a compendium of short stories, written by Senior Journalist and Writer Meher Malik have been released at Punjab Press Club on Saturday in the presence of renowned journalists and writers.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. GC Kail said that it is need of the hour to write about social evils in the present times and hailed Meher Malik for presenting excellent subjects in both his books. Throwing light on the issues raised in these books, Advocate Naeem Khan said that Meher Malik's story in the book 'Bholli Da Karva Chauth' is a sharp attack on the ruined relationship in today's era and is taking us towards eradicating social evils. In this story it was portrayed how the boys of the villages are bringing slur upon their parents through their acts of making false promises to the girls by trapping them in the web of love marriage, he added.


Giving a short introduction of Meher Malik’s literary work, Writer and Poet Sohan Sahajal said that he has known author Meher Malik for the last many years and in each of his books one can see scathing attack against the social evils besides touching various aspects of life, which immediately connects readers ranging from a common man to elite class.  


Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Madam Aradhana, Gurdial Jassal, Jaspal Singh, Baldev Bharadwaj, Abid Salmani, and Hukam Singh Uppal.
