9 booked for hurting religious sentiments in Faridkot

Faridkot: 9 persons have been booked in Faridkot for hurting religious sentiments of the Sikh community besides other sections of IPC at city police station Faridkot in connection with a fight between two fractions in Gurdwara Nishan Sahib, German colony Faridkot.

A scuffle took place in the morning between the occupied fraction on the managing committee of the Gurdwara Sahib and other fraction of the people which wanted to grab the managing committee.
During the Sangrand Divas(,,the first day of Desi month Assu),the two groupes started fighting each other in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib violating the Maryda.The fighting groupes even took out the holy signs of Sri Sahib and Kirpans lying in the service of the holy scriptures.
The fighting groupes crossed all the boundaries of Maryada in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
The video footage of the incidence went viral on internet hurting the religious sentiments of the community.
"We have met the SSP Faridkot and have also informed the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.An inquiry has been marked into this incidence and SSP Faridkot has also taken a serious note of the incidence and a case has been registered in this regard,' said Daler Singh Doad of All India Sikh Students Federation,Faridkot speaking to the media.
The use of naked swords by the fighting groupes drew huge criticism from the common people where the Sikh sangat was present and even the woman and children ran here and there to stop fight crying.
