Faces multiple cases across the state under NDPS and 307
Kapurthala: In a big push to the campaign against the drugs in the district , sultanpur lodhi police today arrested the Balbir singh s/o Kirpal singh who is the Sarpanch of village Lattianwal under NDPS act as the arrested drug dealers revealed the role of sarpanch in drug deals .
SSP kapurthala Navneet singh Bains said that during the investigation of drug related case no 110 dated 01/06/2022 under NDPS ( 22 GM drug) case no 120 dated 13/06/2022 under NDPS (150 GM drugs ) and case no 229 dated 04/09/2022 ( 1 Kg Heroin and 540 drug tablets ) and case no 111 dated 03/06/2022 with recovery of 232 GM drugs .
The arrested smugglers have revealed that Balvir singh , Sarpanch of village lattianwal was also involved in the drug racket . They also revealed that Balvir singh has a major share in the seized drugs.
Acting swiftly on the information collected during the investigation in these cases , the police arrested Sarpanch Balvir singh, SSP added.
He also said that it was also found that Sarpanch Balvir singh was facing many drug related NDPS and crime related cases .
It mainly includes case no 72 under NDPS at sultanpur lodhi on 29-6-2012 , case no 177 dated 29-6-2014 under NDPS at police station Phillaur , case no 83 dated 2-4-2021 under sections 307, 353, 186,224,225,148,149 and case no 97 dated 29-6-2003 under sections of 307, 382, 342, 353, 186,395, 201, 148 at sultanpur lodhi police station .
Hailing the efforts of police officials, SSP said that the drive against drugs would be more strengthen in coming days .
