The Nurmahal police have arrested three scrap dealers, their two servants, and three thieves on charges of purchasing stolen material from farmers’ fields.
The Station House officer (SHO Sukhdev Singh said that the arrested scrap dealers have been identified as Tarsem Lal alias Bittu son of Khush Hal Singh a resident of Mohalla Surrrianya Nurmahal, Dinesh Kumar Gupta son of Parshotam Gupta a resident of Mohalla Ravidass Pura Nurmahal and Prince Dhingra son of Sudeh Kumar a resident of Jandiala village .
SHO said scrap dealer servants have been identified as
, Chirajan son of Gautam a resident of Mohalla Ravidass Pur Nurmahal and Akhilesh Gupta son of Gautam a resident of Mohalla Ravidass Pur Nurmahal,
SHO said that the thieves have been identified as l,Manoj Kumar alias Sonu and Kulwindar Kumar son of Ashok Kumar a resident of Bature village, and Bhpinder Singh alias Bhinda son of Jaswant Singh a resident of Cheema Khurd village
Gurchetan Singh a resident of Shidham Hari Singh village explained to the police that the accused stole the starter, grip, and cables May 24 night and other materials from his borewell and stole such materials from many farmer’s borewells and sold them to scrap dealers. Balbir Singh a resident of Sunner Kalan village identified the accused in police custody and told that they had assaulted him at his well on May 20 and snatched Rs 700 and stole the motor starter and cable
SHO said that a case under sections 379-B(snatching ) 457(house trespass) 380(theft in dwelling house ) 379(theft) 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property and 120-B(criminal conspiracy ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered from their possession huge quantity of stolen materials. SHO said the accused were produced in a court which remanded them to police custody till Monday.
SHO said the police action was fully cooperated by the farmers.
Meanwhile, many farmers staged a dharna in front of the police station demanding strict action against the accused.
