Instead of replying to the governor’s letter in which he had demanded some specific information on the about five issues, Mann government seems to be coming into direct confrontation with the governor.
Yesterday, Bhagwant Mann had replied to the governor that information sought by him falls in the preview of the state and his government will not reply to the governor appointed by the centre.
Today, in another letter, being circulated on social media, Mann has questioned the governor how the governors to the states are being appointed.
“You have(App ji) asked me on what criteria the Principals were selected to send them for training in Singapore.The people of Punjab want to ask that in absence of some criteria laid down in the Indian constitution, how the state governors are appointed?Please add to the information Of Punjabis by telling it,” reads the letter allegedly written by CM office in Punjabi.
But this is the question of Punjabis.This is the issue between the state government and the governor.Mann should not refuse to reply to the governor if he seeks some genuine information.
The constitutional post must be respected instead of giving it any political colour which may unnecessarily push the state into problems.
AAP spokesman Malwinder Singh Kang has also tweeted about it.
“The governors can not run a parallel government. If the country was to be run by the governors, what was the need to make so many sacrifices?Kang asked in a tweet from AAP twitter handle.
“Where BJP gets defeated, it misuses the powers of the governors and undermines democracy,” Kang asked.
Punjab governor Banwari Lal Purohit had on Sunday made public his letters written to the chief minister, but surprisingly, the Punjab CM had said that he had not received any of the letters and only learnt about it from the media.
