Malerkotla police have arrested a man for mercilessly beating a child in village Moranwali.
The police identified and arrested the accused after the video,in which the accused was seen mercilessly beating the child,started doing rounds on social media.
"The police have arrested the accused and a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registed againt him, on the statement of the parents,"said Avneet Kaur Sidhu,SSP Malerkotla.
She said that the accused has his land on contract in village Moranwali and the children were playing nearby.
"Some articles of children fell into the land of the accused,the child went to pick those,but the accused started beating/thrashing him mercilessly,"the SSP said.
She said the police acted very quickly after seeing the video on social media.
