The Mehat Pur police have arrested a member of a gang of miscreants on charges of organized crime.
Investigating Officer (IO) Puran Singh said that the accused has been identified as Vinod Kumar alias Lalu son of Dhana Ram a resident of Chhajan Wala mohala MehetPut .
Ajay Chauhan, a resident of Mehat Pur had complained to the police that the accused snatched Rs 9000 from him by threatening him at the point of sharp-edged weapons and then barged into his house, tried to rape women, committed obscene acts with them, ransacked his house, and indulged in loot.
The complainant had said the accused had formed a gang and committed acts of looting and snatching during the night.
IO said a case under sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with the intent to outrage her modesty ),111(organized crime ) ,304(2) (snatching), 333(house trespass ), 351(2)(criminal conspiracy) and 324(4)(mischief) of the BNS was registered against the accused and others
