The Mehatpur police have booked four persons including a woman on charges of cheating, fraud and criminal conspiracy.
Investigating officer (IO) Amrik Lal said that the accused have been identified as Jaswindar Singh Gill son of Mukhtiar Singh a resident of Mohalla SHAH Salem Pur Mehat Pur ,Hari Ram son of Sant Ram a resident of Mohalla Shadi Khan ,Raman Kumar typist Raman Computer Typing Center Member,and Sarabjot Singh Technical Assistant in the office of Naib tehsildat Mehat Pur.
Manjit Singh a resident of Shah Salem pur village in Mehat Pur complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Jalandhar rural that that the accused prepared a fake transfer dead on his name in his absence and got registered it in tehsil office
IO said the SSP ordered an inquiry and registration of a case and a case under sections 419(punishment for cheating by personation), 420(cheating), 465,467,468ans 471 (fraud) and 120-(criminal conspiracy) of the IPC have been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
