The Shahkot police have booked Parmindar Singh a resident of Kotla Suraj Mall village for illegal sand mining.
Shahkot/Nakodar mining inspector Rohit Singh complained to the police that the accused was intercepted at a Naka but managed to flee leaving behind a tractor trolly loaded with sand. The Investigating Officer Salindar Singh said that a case under Section379 (theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC and section 21 of the Punjab Mining and Minerals Act has been registered against the accused. His tractor-trolley loaded with sand has been impounded.
