Sacrilege accused murder case: 3 sent to 5 days police custody

Faridkot: The Faridkot police produced the two shooters and another accused for providing the logistic support to the killers of the Dera follower Pardeep Singh Kataira in the court of the JMIC(Judicial Magistrate First class) Ajaypal today who sent the three to the 5 days police custody.

The two shooters,Manpreet Singh Mani and Bhupinder Singh Goldy, had been arrested allegedly from Hoshiarpur in a joint operation by the CI unit of Jalandhar , Faridkot and Hoshiarpur police in a joint operation on Thursday.

Another accused Baljit Singh alias Manna had also been arrested by the Punjab police for providing logistic support to the shooters.

Now, the Faridkot police have 6 accused, including two minors, in police custody.

Another Haryana based shooter, AJtinder Jeetu,is yet to be brought to Faridkot by the district police for which the legal proceedings are on.

It is pertinent to mention that Pardeep Singh Kataria,52, who was running a Karyana store at Hari Naon road,Kotkapura,Faridkot, was shot dead by 6 gunmen on November 10 in the morning when he was opening his shop.

His security guard was also injured in the incident besides another neighbour shopkeeper.

The three shooters,including two minors, had been arrested by the special cell of the Delhi police while Punjab police arrested the three accused yesterday.

Another accused in the case, an undertrial in modern jail Faridkot, was also brought on a production warrant by the local police.

The Dera follower was one of the 7 accused nominated in sacrilege incident and was currently on bail.
