NAKODAR
The Nakodar Sadar police have booked five villagers on the charges of assault, criminal intimidation, and rioting.
The investigating officer (IO) Sukhwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kulwindar Singh ,Bindar and Jaswindar Singh residents of Talwandi Salem village, and their two unidentified accomplices.
Gurdev Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused waylaid and attacked him and his wife Gurbakash Kaur with weapons and injured and threatened them with dire consequences.
IO said a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt),341(wrongful restrain)447(criminal trespass) 506(criminal intimidation) 511(punishment for attempting to commit offenses punishable with imprisonment .), and 148 and 149(rioting ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
