The law-and-order situation in Nurmahal police station areas has deteriorated so much that looters have made it a playground for their nefarious activities as a loot of Rs 45,500 from a petrol pump here testify to this dark reality.
As per available information, two unidentified looters on Monday night attacked salesmen at a petrol pump on Nakodar- Phillaur bye-pass and snatched Rs 45,500 from them at pistol point.
Petrol pump owner Dalip Kumar, a resident of Nurmahal complained to the police about two unidentified motorcycle-borne looters barging into the office and snatching from them Rs 45,500 sales money at pistol point and fled away.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kulwinder Singh Virk said that the police are investigating a looting incident, and a case is being registered in this connection.
It is pertinent to mention here that three unidentified looters on May 4 brutally attacked Nurmahal's shopkeeper and looted Rs 6500.
