NAKODAR
The Nakodar city police have arrested Chetan son of Tejindar Mohan a resident of Harcharan Nagar, Shingaar cinema near Samrala Chowk, Ludhiana in a dowry harassment case.
Complainant Rama Sharma, a resident of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura Nakodar had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage and assaulted and threw her out from the house.
The investigating officer Mangat Rai said a case under sections 406(breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the IPC was registered against the accused after an inquiry and released him on interim bail granted by a Jalandhar court.
