Faridkot: Raj Kumar took over as the district and sessions judge of Muktsar on Wednesday.
Earlier, he has served as additional district and sessions judge Ludhiana, Bathinda and Jalandhar.
A team of Punjab police gave him guard of honour on the occasion.
The new district and sessions judge instructed all judicial officers in the Muktsar courts to do their work honestly and dispose of the pending cases in a speedy manner.
Sandeep Singh Bajwa, additional session judge,Mahesh Grover, secretary district legal services authority,Jatinderpal Singh, civil judge, junior division and Raj Pal Raval, CJM were present on the occasion besides other judicial officers.
