The Jalandhar (rural) police on Saturday destroyed drugs seized under NDPS Act by various police stations.
The Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh said in a press release that the drugs seized in 219 cases were destroyed in a fire on the premises of Green Energy Private Limited Bir Pind village under Nakodar sadar police station.
He said that destroyed drugs included 506 kilograms and 550 grams of poppy husk,10 kilograms and 079 grams of intoxicant powder,4 kilograms and 719 grams of heroin,135 injections,6577 intoxicant tablets and ,1836 intoxicant capsules.
The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Swarandeep Singh, SP(D) Sarabjit Singh Bahia, and Harjindar Singh DSP Nakodar were present on the occasion.
