The Shahkot police have booked two villagers on the charge of outraging a woman’s modesty.
The investigating officer (IO) Lakhbir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Shingara Singh son of Jogindar Singh and his brother Saabi residents of Bajwa Kalan village.
Jaswindar Kaur wife of Dilbag Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police the accused ransacked the shed in front of her house and barged inside and assaulted her and dragged her by pulling her hair.
IO said that a case under sections 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty),323(voluntarily causing hurt) 458 (house-breaking by night after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint.) 427(mischief), and 34(committing the crime with common intention) has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
