The Jalandhar (rural) police on Saturday destroyed drugs seized under NDPS Act by various police stations.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swarandeep Singh in a press release said that the drugs seized were destroyed in a fire on the premises of P.K.Paper and Board Mill Mehat Pur
He said that destroyed drugs included 218 kilograms and 750 grams of poppy husk,3 kilograms and 498 grams of intoxicant powder,4 kilograms and 899 grams of heroin 10 grams of charas,2 kilograms and 775 grams of ganja,190 grams smack,17 injections,7395 intoxicant tablets,230 intoxicant capsules.
The press note said that the drug disposal committee of Jalandhar rural chairman and SSP Swaradeep Singh, SP(D) Sarabjit Singh, and Jaswindar Singh Chahal DSP (detective) were present on the occasion.
