Dewan lauds contribution of Indians especially Punjabi Daispora in Australia

  • Dewan led delegation meets prominent personalities of Punjabi diaspora during Australia visit.


Melbourne: The Indian delegation led by Pawan Dewan,former chairman,Large Scale Industrial Development Board,   visiting Australia has appreciated the hard work and progress of Indians in various fields there.

 They appreciated the sports policy of the Australian government, where Kabaddi and other sports are also being promoted along with cricket.

Former chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Pawan Dewan, senior Congress leader Gurmail Singh Pahlwan, Sunil Dutt, who are part of this delegation, met with prominent personalities of the Punjabi community in Belgium Reception Wedding Venue Melbourne.

Addressing the meeting,  Pawan Dewan said that Indians and especially Punjabis had made the country proud in Australia with their hard work, due to which an Indian MP had  been elected for the first time in Australia.

Dewan exhorted  the Indian community to support the Indians contesting  elections of Victoria, irrespective of the community they belong to, so that the Indian community could achieve  greater heights of progress. He said that Punjabis in Australia have made a name for themselves in various businesses including transport, restaurants, builders and developers.

Senior Congress leader Gurmail Pehlwan praised the promotion of women's cricket as well as kabaddi in Australia apart from men's. Prominent personalities, which included,  Paramjit Singh Grewal Pradhan, Paramvir Singh Nabha, Gagan Singh Nabha, Aman Brar Mukhtiar Gill, Sarathak Dutt, Sunny Dutt, Alok Kumar, Akash Kumar, Dara Singh, Barinderpal Singh Nabha, Gurdawar Singh, K.S. Kohli, Raj Singh, Neeraj Tuli, Raja Dhillon, Sati Grewal, Virinder Sharma, Virinder Kapoor, were present on the occasion.
