Ludhiana: Five drunk laborers murder their friends over Rs 500, arrested

Ludhiana: Five drunk labourers allegedly killed their friend following a spat over Rs 500 during playing cards game in Ludhiana. After the murder, all the accused were trying to escape from the city. Meanwhile, the police arrested those five accused.

 

The accused were identified as Dharamjit Mishra, Anuj Kumar, Amit Kumar, residents of Gurmel Nagar, Kala of Prem Nagar and Mahamaya Nagar resident of Sagar Pal.

Police said that all the accused have been arrested from Dhandari railway station. There they were trying to escape. The accused revealed that they had met the deceased Jham Kumar Choudhary behind his house in Mahamaya Nagar. There all the workers were drinking alcohol and betting on card games. The accused fought for more than Rs 500 during the game. The deceased Jham Kumar started accusing him of cheating after which a dispute started between them.

 

SHO Inspector Randhir Singh of Daba police station said that the accused took out five bricks from the plot while intoxicated. Jham Kumar was beaten to death with this brick. Deen Dayal Choudhary, the father of the deceased, witnessed the incident from the roof of the house and informed the police on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the police registered a case and started raids to arrest the accused. On the basis of secret information, the police reached the Dhandari railway station and arrested the five accused.
