The Bilga station house officer (SHO) Mohindar Pal said on Sunday that Jalandhar councilor Davindar Singh son of Harjindar Singh a resident of Jain colony Jalandhar was arrested in FIR no .119 on the charge of extortion.
SHO was replying to a question on a case in which Harjindar Singh has claimed that he was not arrested though a case has been registered against him and blamed the Congress party for this.
SHO said that Rajindar Singh along with his two accomplices was produced in a Phillaur court and was released on bail.
Junior Engineer cum mining inspector Bist Doab division Jalandhar Hardip Kumar has complained to the police that the accused traveling in a Bolero (PB-08 DX-3330) were forcibly collecting money from people by issuing them fake slips for carrying sand in tractor trollies
SHO said that a case under section 384(extortion) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused and his two accomplices.
Rajindar Singh has claimed in an interview telecasted by a private TV channel that he was not arrested by anybody and has gone to Delhi for work as an elected member and will go with anybody who comes to him for help.
