The Shahkot police have booked a villager for illegal sand mining and criminal intimidation.
The investigating officer (IO) Harbhajan Lal said that the accused has been identified as Balwindar Singh son of Jogindar Singh a resident of Thamu Wal village.
Junior Engineer and mining inspector Nakodar /Shahkot that the accused was indulging in illegal sand mining from land in Ram Pur village and threaded village resident Bindar Singh and used abusive language against him.
IO said a case has been registered under Section 21 of the Mines Act and section 379(theft) 506(criminal intimidation) and 294 (singing, reciting or uttering any obscene song, ballad, or words, in or near any public place,) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
