BJP released its second list of 6 candidates for Himachal Assembly elections

SHIMLA:  BJP on Thursday released its second list of six candidates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. On October 19, the BJP had announced the names of 62 candidates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.

 

The first list features only 5 women candidates. Among the prominent candidates, incumbent chief minister Jai Ram Thakur will contest from Seraj.

There are 68 seats in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The name of former Chief Minister of the state Premchand Dhumal is also not in the second list. It is now clear from this that he will not contest the elections.

In the second list, BJP has nominated Ramesh Dhawala from Dehra seat. Similarly, Ravindra Singh Ravi from Jwalamukhi, Maheshwar Singh from Kullu, Maya Sharma from Badsar, Professor Ramkumar from Haroli, Kaul Negi from Rampur seat reserved for Scheduled Castes have been given tickets. BJP has already declared the names of its 62 candidates. 

 

Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will be held in one phase. Its notification was issued on 17 October. The filing of nomination papers will be done till October 25. Voting will be conducted on November 12 and the counting of votes will be done on December 8.
